Lisa is 12 or 21 today. I sent her a video that I am not allowed to share on YouTube. This is the song that accompanied the video.

I didn't buy you a gift again this year but I found this instructional video on making your own decorative wicker basket. Mom can probably show you where the craft store is. I'd love to see the results!

When I got home from work today, there was a box sitting at my door. A little heavier than the boxes that I've been getting lately. If it's heavy, it's expensive (remember Jurassic Park?) so I handled it a bit more gently as I kicked it through the doorway.

A few more shots came rolling in from Tara, my old running and cycling buddy. Having a chance to see her and ride with her again was great.

I spent the weekend in California. It is a 466 mile drive from my apartment to my parents' house. My first day of work was yesterday and I'm on my way in to my second day now. I wanted to share a few photos from the weekend before I take off.

Not dessert chocolate. Don't mail chocolate to the desert. Or anything that might be heat-sensitive for that matter. Everything that I have received in the mail here is extremely hot. It sits in a truck or sorting facility baking in the sun. Just yesterday I was sent a small metal tool and when I took it out of the package it was too hot to touch. I dropped it on the floor where it sat until it cooled down.

We had about a week of relatively cooler temperatures. Hardly any rain but still hitting triple digit during the day. Last night was hot and was above 90 at the coolest. About twenty minutes ago, I saw some incredible lights and now thunder is ripping it's way through northern Tucson. The map shows that the hot spot is directly over us. If you can catch it on the webcam, Lisa tells me that you can't see bolts but lots of flashes. Check out the webcam if you can. Now. It'll be gone soon. It's 11:50 PM right now.
